Ghawazee was a transdisciplinary action collective made up of women with different artistic backgrounds, interested in investigating female modes of expression through carrying out actions in public spaces or with large circulation.

"In Egyptian villages a professional dancer was known as a ghaziya (plural ghawazee). The original ghawazee were gypsies, although the word has become a generic term for dancers rather than denoting one or more particular tribes, as was the case. ( ...).
